Egypt Strangles Iron, While Iraq at Least Tried! We must respect the bold attempt by the Iraqi administration; although they couldn't match Venezuela's Steel dominance, they at least tried to cut taxes to support their producers. In Egypt, however, instead of leveraging our global lead in Iron to ease the burden on workers, the administration insists on a 'collection-first' policy that leaves workers with nothing but crumbs of their 'net profit.'
