Ten days ago, Northern Italy was attacked by Germany in a surprise operation that caught all of Europe off guard. All of Italy was stunned to discover that it was Switzerland—the country we had fought to defend—that had turned its back on us, allowing the Germans to conquer it in order to gain easy access to the Alps and attack the Italians.

The battle was fierce. We gave everything we could, yet it was not enough… too many Germans. The baby boom was giving us a hell of a time, but in the end, our dear allies stood their ground, did not flinch, and somehow the Alps did not fall.
