As South Africa prepares to elect their 4th president in less than a week, the political landscape has never been more critical. To provide clarity amidst the campaign noise, we posed five identical questions to each candidate. Their responses are presented below verbatim and without commentary.
Why do you believe people should vote for you?

I make mistakes(like stepping down from the Presidency), but I am willing to learn from those mistakes. I listen to people when they give me advice, I listen to people when they tell me I am wrong. I understand that it is impossible for a President to do absolutely everything on their own. I lean on my cabinet and congress, I consider their advice and I don't make decisions that go against the wishes of my people. I also understand the agreements and alliances South Africa has, I am willing to commit a lot of time to the role, I am active and I have proven that communication is essential and I like for everyone to be informed. I also have a balanced understanding of game mechanics - diplomacy, economy and war. Right now our country needs stability and I can provide that stability.

How do you plan to handle our diplomacy with other nations?

But more importantly than how we deal with other countries is how we communicate this to our people. Congress needs access to these discussions and communications in order to make informed decisions when it comes time to vote on key issues. No backroom deals. No shutting out of congress members from embassy chats. Congress is voted for by the people to act in the best interests of the people and circumventing this process because you aren't happy with their decisions is intolerable.

What is one thing about our situation or community currently that you will try and change, and what is one thing that you will try your hardest to maintain?

In the past few days our communication to the people has diminished, our congress has been shut out of diplomatic relations and our community has been left constantly searching for answers. My first step would be to immediately rectify these issues. The community is the most important thing to me and we have great people here who get along well, I'd like to maintain that community cohesion and I know exactly what issues need to be fixed in order to make that happen.

In terms of change, there isn’t much, but I think what I want to change is very important. I want to change the fact that Mozambique has gone unpunished for not giving us an SR robbing me of a sweet sweet +0.5% PB that would have been extremely beneficial to me when I was in eco.
How many hours do you plan on allocating to WarEra per day?

I think that’s more than enough time to read through all of the secret government and embassy discord channels, and to sour relations with our Mozambiquan neighbors to a point where war is inevitable.

4 days isn’t enough time to reach goals the VPA has set out and it’s easy to see who is behind the calling of the new elections as they have been just waiting for an opportunity to start a new election with bogus reasoning to get their preferred candidates in. Different parties and candidates but it’s the same group.
I'm asking for a fair chance as we’ve been hit with sabotage and controversy since the first failed impeachment.
Being thrust into a global war with little to no handing over from our predecessors with every decision, choice and question being scrutinised and met with provocation isn’t fair to any party or cabinet which gets the opportunity to lead the nation. Don’t be fooled by the virtue signalling they have been hyper critical given myself and my cabinet’s first time in the role. I really like this game and we should be having fun, so much unnecessary drama
