November has arrived. This one has a new uniform, a freshly cleaned rifle, and apparently still hasn't learned to stay out of politics.
Citizens of https://app.warera.io/country/683ddd2c24b5a2e114af1612!
After a month-long "holiday" in Mozambique, which somehow involved becoming Vice President, being appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, financing a war, protesting a flag, and returning home with an army of crabs, this one has finally settled back into South African life.
Well, settled might be a strong word.
This one has joined the military.
The Hawaiian shirt has been retired, the sand has mostly been removed from places where sand should never be, and a rather impressive uniform has taken its place.
Allow this one to introduce himself.
Captain Binya_Elsweyr, reporting for duty!
The medals have been polished, the beret adjusted to accommodate the ears, and the sniper rifle has finally been returned to its rightful place.
And on the 1st of November, this one returned to the battlefield.
The first day?
A success!

After a month of government meetings, financial headaches, and diplomatic incidents, it felt wonderful to finally solve a problem by looking through a scope rather than opening another spreadsheet.
Unfortunately, there is one problem that even a sniper rifle cannot solve.
Congress.
Yes, dear citizens, this one is once again putting his name forward for a seat in the South African Congress for November.
Some might question the wisdom of this decision.
After all, this one has already experienced the joys of government, the headaches of leadership, and the remarkable ability of politicians to turn a simple decision into a three-hour discussion.
And yet, here we are.
Perhaps this one misses the debates.
Perhaps this one believes he can still contribute something worthwhile.
Or perhaps a month in Mozambique has caused permanent damage to his decision-making abilities.
Whatever the reason, Captain Binya is standing for Congress!
This one cannot promise miracles.
There will be no grand declarations of conquering the world by Tuesday, no promises of unlimited wealth, and certainly no more offers of free holidays.
This one has learned that lesson.
What this one can promise is to continue contributing wherever possible, supporting South Africa and its citizens, and approaching decisions with a willingness to listen, discuss, and occasionally ask the questions nobody else wants to ask.
South Africa has always been more than borders on a map.
It is the people who turn up for battles, help one another, share a laugh, and somehow keep this wonderfully chaotic country moving forward.
Those are the people this one hopes to represent.

Of course, politics will not keep this Khajiit away from the battlefield.
Starting next week, From This One's Scope returns!
The familiar battlefield reports will continue, now accompanied by a new rank, a military uniform, and perhaps a slightly more official-looking notebook.
The rifle is ready.
The Captain is eager.
And somewhere in the garden, the crabs are attempting to establish their own military command structure.
This one has decided not to interfere.

As November begins, this one asks the citizens of https://app.warera.io/country/683ddd2c24b5a2e114af1612 for their support in the upcoming Congressional election.
If you believe this Khajiit can continue making a worthwhile contribution to our country, this one would be honoured to receive your vote.
And if not?
Well, this one will still be out there on the battlefield, doing what he loves.
For South Africa. For its citizens. And for the occasional well-placed critical hit.
