A Letter to the German People — From Denmark, With Honesty.

Dear German neighbors, Dear GehtLos

Thank you for writing. Genuinely. It takes courage to speak openly, and we respect that — especially when your own government is the one that invaded us.

You ask us to take Denmark into our own hands. We already have. That's exactly why we're fighting.

Let's address the puppet state claim directly — because it deserves a direct answer. Yes, Belgium supported us. Yes, allies fight together. That is what allies do. When Denmark was occupied and struggling to its feet, our friends extended a hand. We took it. That is not puppetry — that is solidarity. By your own logic, every nation that has ever received allied support is a puppet. Was France a puppet of America in 1944? We think not.

You admit yourself that attacking Denmark was wrong. That France deserved it more. We appreciate the honesty — but here is the thing: we were still the ones who got invaded. We were still the ones whose sovereignty was stripped away. And we were still the ones who had to fight back, with whatever help we could get.

You mention Belgium invading Britain in the same breath as claiming to care about our freedom. We noticed that too. But Germany invading Denmark while criticizing others for expansion is a contradiction we cannot let pass without comment.

We hold no hatred for the German people. You are not your government's decisions, just as we are not Belgium's. But Denmark acts in Denmark's interest — and right now, that interest is freedom, sovereignty, and finishing what was started.

We wish you well, German neighbor. Truly.
