A lie behind the war

SodiumJuly 17, 2026entertainment

Poet: Rehman Faris

English Translation

There is work yet waiting, yours and ours alike.
Millions sleep in hunger, yours and ours alike.
Why must childhood, meant for games, inherit only death?
They are tender, blameless children, yours and ours alike.
Come, together let us wage our war on want and ignorance,
For so many dreams lie unfulfilled, yours and ours alike.

If you go through this poem, it not only tells the truth but also holds deep emotion and a message for all humanity.

A war is not just about winning and losing but about loss on both sides, which is unfortunately left unseen.

The wife, waiting for his husband,
The very young son crying for his father,

The daughter, with desires for gifts, looks at the door,

The sister, waiting for the confidence his brother gave,
The Younger brother, looking for the pocket money,

The Mother, cooking the favourite dish for his son,

The Father, thinking about the glories of his son,

And the husband, father, brother, son...

All are waiting, and suddenly the news arrives.

The soldier who has fought relentlessly has ascended to the heavens and is no longer among them.

The only person taking care of the entire family has gone.

No one is left to care for that family.

And the same country celebrates the victory over another, yet diminishes the loss.

The world needs peace, yet it is wounded by its own policies and decisions.

The words may end here, but not the sorrow and the loss of the lives this world has witnessed in the wars and crimes.
