Hi fellow players, I’m a recent member of the community, who joined after seeing a call for help from a fellow countryman to protect our land (spoiler alert, we failed :D). Even so, I’ve been having a great time around here.
Coming in as someone who’s played a couple of browser-based strategy games before and who’s also interested in how these kinds of systems scale under the hood, this has been a really interesting experience.
With that in mind, I wanted to bring up a couple of discussion points around systems I’ve seen in similar games. The idea isn’t to suggest that WarEra needs changes, but rather to share approaches that have worked elsewhere and might be interesting in this kind of environment. It could be useful to hear how the community feels about them and whether any of these ideas would even fit the direction the game is going in.
One area worth discussing is the in-game market and how to reduce AFK scripting or automated trading behavior.
In other economy-driven games, this is often handled through:
Market friction systems like taxes, cooldowns, or trade limits
Behavior-based detection of repetitive or inhuman trading patterns
More broadly, many systems focus less on detecting tools directly and more on identifying behavioral signals such as:
Perfect timing consistency
24/7 activity patterns
Repeated identical action loops
This is intended as a positive discussion starter around systems that could help keep that spirit strong as the game continues to grow.
Curious to hear what others think about this…
