In northern Italy, specifically in the Piedmont region, lies the famous Double Tree of Casorzo (Bialbero di Casorzo). This unique natural marvel features a fully grown cherry tree thriving on top of a mulberry tree. Both trees bloom and bear fruit simultaneously, a rare phenomenon in botany. While parasitic epiphytes usually have short lifespans, this cherry tree managed to extend its roots deep through the hollow trunk of the mulberry tree to reach the soil, surviving for decades.
