After years of political weakness and economic collapse, Morocco went through a difficult period under Portuguese and Spanish influence, while lacking any real impact on the international stage. However, with major internal changes and the restructuring of state institutions, the country began entering a new era defined by reform, stability, and diplomatic openness.

First of all, MrSidi, how did you view Morocco’s situation during the period when it was under Portuguese and Spanish influence?

Honestly, it was a very difficult period. Morocco was suffering from major economic and political weakness, and it did not have a strong international presence. We were facing many internal problems, and the country had lost a large part of its influence both regionally and internationally.

What were the main reasons that led Morocco to reach this stage?
https://app.warera.io/user/69dc26daf8d47c04e5390f51
The main reason was poor management and weak institutions. Many officials were not working in the country’s best interests, and this negatively affected the economy, public trust, and even Morocco’s international image.

We later witnessed major changes within the government and Congress. Why was this decision necessary?
https://app.warera.io/user/69dc26daf8d47c04e5390f51
There was a need to reorganize the ranks. We replaced several ministers and officials who were unable to make a real contribution to the country, and we needed people with a new vision and the ability to work under pressure. Even within Congress, fresh blood was necessary so that decisions could become more effective.

How were you able to strengthen the internal front during this sensitive period?
https://app.warera.io/user/69dc26daf8d47c04e5390f51
We focused first on internal stability and national unity. No country can succeed internationally if it is weak internally. That is why we tried to build more organized institutions and create stronger cooperation between the different sectors of the state.

Moroccan foreign policy has become much more active recently. What changed?
We also notice that you handle many responsibilities at the same time. For example, you are currently the Minister of Economy, but at the same time we see you involved in war affairs as a general and also in foreign affairs. Should we understand from this that the ministers are not doing their jobs properly?

The political mentality changed. Morocco no longer waits for recognition from others; instead, it started moving forward and building new alliances. We opened embassies, developed relations with allied countries, and began asserting our presence in a stronger and more organized way.
As for your point about me holding multiple positions, for me these positions are mainly ranks and titles. If I notice a gap or if intervention is needed due to the absence of any minister, then yes, I will step in, fill that gap, and do my job normally. What matters most is that the country remains standing and stable.

Can we say that Morocco today is stronger than it was in the past?
https://app.warera.io/user/69dc26daf8d47c04e5390f51
Absolutely. The road is still long, but the difference compared to the past is significant. Today, Morocco has a clearer vision, a stronger diplomatic presence, and a more stable internal front. Most importantly, the state has started thinking strategically about the future.

What was the biggest challenge you faced during the reform period?
https://app.warera.io/user/69dc26daf8d47c04e5390f51
The biggest challenge was changing the old mentality and convincing everyone that Morocco was capable of becoming stronger again. Reforms always face resistance, but through determination and collective effort, we managed to overcome many obstacles.
