Bogoljub - Mega interview with Serbian CP

BraneJune 12, 2026news

Hello dear presidente, Bogoljub

Thank you for accepting my invitation for this interview. Lets start

1) To start, do you find yourself collaborating with friends in the game, or do you prefer to go solo?

Thanks for interviewing me and I hope you are enjoying the game so far!

I actually started playing WarEra completely solo, but over time I've managed to build friendships with many people both within the Serbian community and abroad.

One funny story is that when I first discovered the game, I immediately messaged one of my best friends in real life, JesusRaves, telling him that I had found an amazing game that reminded me of eRepublik, which I used to play when I was around 13 years old. His response surprised me, he was already playing WarEra and used to be Serbia's Minister of Economy. The funny part is that he never invited me because he genuinely thought I wouldn't enjoy the game. As it turns out, WarEra was much closer to my interests than he expected. Looking back, it's a small world. I joined on my own, only to discover that one of my best friends had already been part of the game all along. Another one of my close real life friends, MajorFails, is currently the President of Israel.

2) If you were the President in real life, which players would you choose for key positions—Vice President, Secretary of Defense, Secretary of State, and Secretary of the Treasury?

Realistically, the only country I could ever become president of would be Serbia and to be completely honest, I wouldn't touch that job with a ten-foot pole. I would rather nominate Hxeo and let him pick the positions.

3) What is your favorite food?

I have IBS, so unfortunately I can't really afford to have a favorite food. If I got too attached to any particular meal and then couldn't eat it, I'd probably go completely mental.

These days my relationship with food is less about favorites and more about finding things that won't start a civil war in my digestive system.

4) If you were to recommend a movie or series, what would it be?

Without a doubt: True Detective

Not the entire series, just the first season. The atmosphere, the writing, the dialogue and the performances by Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are exceptional. It's dark, philosophical, unsettling and somehow manages to tell a complete story in just eight episodes. If someone hasn't seen it yet, that's my recommendation every single time.

5) Who is your favorite male and female actor?

My favorite male actor is Daniel Day-Lewis. The level of dedication he brings to his roles is unmatched and I can't think of another actor who disappears into a character quite the way he does.

For female actors, the choice is a bit more difficult, but if I had to pick one, I'd go with Julianne Moore.

6) Are you a fan of music? Please share four(4) of your favorite singers.

Absolutely. I can spend hours listening to music and getting completely lost in it.

My picks would probably be Frank Sinatra, whose music never seems to age, Kendrick Lamar when it comes to rap, Branimir Štulić because Azra is simply something else and finally Kanye West. Yeah, I know he doesn't really sing, but damn, can he make music. It's a somewhat unusual combination, but those are the artists I find myself coming back to the most.

7) Among the popular songs you enjoy, can you highlight just one?

If I had to pick just one, it would be Paranoid by Black Sabbath.

In fact, I like to start every single day by blasting it at maximum volume. It's one of those songs that never gets old and somehow manages to wake me up better than coffee. If my neighbors ever decide to murder me, that'll probably be the reason.

8) What’s your favorite sport?

Basketball, Jokić is the GOAT.

9) Which football team do you support?

I'd have to go with Real Madrid.

That said, I enjoyed football a lot more during the 2000s. Watching players like Ronaldinho, Ronaldo Nazario, Thierry Henry and Zinedine Zidane felt special. There was a certain magic and personality to that era that I don't feel the modern game quite captures anymore. These days I barely follow football at all, except during the World Cup. Every four years I suddenly become a football expert again, only to lose interest as soon as the tournament ends.

10) If you had the chance to have lunch with a historical or fictional character for a day, who would you choose?

I'd probably choose Theodore Roosevelt.

He lived a life that almost sounds fictional. Soldier, explorer, rancher, hunter, reformer, author and president. Whether you agreed with him or not, he was never a boring person and I can't think of many historical figures who would have more interesting stories to tell over lunch. More than anything, I'd be curious to hear how he viewed leadership, ambition, the challenges of his era and then compare them to the world we live in today. I suspect that conversation would be worth far more than the meal itself.

11) What does happiness mean to you?

For me, happiness is surprisingly simple: making the people I care about happy.

Personal achievements, money and success all have their place, but they don't mean much if the people closest to me aren't doing well. Seeing my family, friends and loved ones happy and knowing I've contributed to that in some way is probably the closest thing I have to a definition of happiness.

12) If you were to write a book with five chapters on achieving success in life, what would you title each chapter?

Something along these lines:

  • Listen to Everyone - Agree with Few

  • Learn What Matters to You

  • One Goal at a Time

  • The Power of Showing Up

  • Enjoy Success - Prepare for the Future

To summarize: First, learn how to think independently, then figure out what is actually worth learning. Turn that into achievable goals and stay consistent long enough to accomplish them. Finally, handle success and money responsibly once it arrives.

13) Imagine you’re planning a day out. Which one player from the game would you invite? (Just one)

I'd invite Babu.

Not because we'd have some deep philosophical discussion or embark on a grand adventure, but simply so I could finally show him how to touch grass. I consider it both a personal mission and a public service.

14) Now, picture a scenario where you’re battling a bear in the forest. Which player would you want by your side? (Again, just one)

My fat MoFA Fila.

Not because I think he'd help me defeat the bear, but because if things start going badly, I just need to outrun him.

15) If you’d like, please share a memorable story—whether it’s funny, emotional, or something else from your experiences in the game or in real life.

One of my favorite WarEra memories happened during one of the game's infamous outages. The servers were down for hours (RIP hamsters) and around twenty of us were sitting in a Discord voice channel with absolutely nothing better to do.

Naturally, we decided to spend our time trolling other players who joined the server looking for answers. We would tell them they had been automatically banned for being Serbian and that they needed to submit a ticket to the moderators immediately. To make sure everything was "properly documented," we also asked them to send screenshots of their tickets to us for our records. The best part was that most of the people actually believed us. The screenshots we received were absolutely hilarious and every new player who joined gave us another opportunity to make the story even more ridiculous. In hindsight, it was probably one of the dumbest things I've ever participated in, but the combination of server downtime, boredom and twenty people collectively sharing a single brain cell made it unforgettable. Here is one example:

16) What advice do you have for new and incoming players?

Mute global chat.

17) Do you have any suggestions regarding the game?

I'm in a somewhat unique position here, because I work closely with Vatou, so most of my suggestions go directly to him.

That said, I think the game has a very bright future. The foundation is already there and the fact that feedback can reach the developer so quickly is one of WarEra's biggest strengths. My job is mostly to keep throwing ideas at him and hoping at least some of them survive the process.

18) Are you satisfied with the recent changes in the game? On a scale from 1 to 10, how would you rate the admins performance?

Being part of the moderation team, I may be a little biased, but I'd still give the admins a 10/10.

I'm also very satisfied with the recent changes to the game. It's easy for players to focus on what still needs improvement, but it's important to remember that WarEra is being developed by a single developer while supporting a community of thousands of players. Having some understanding of the game development process myself, I know just how difficult that is. That doesn't mean every change will be perfect or that there won't be mistakes along the way, but the amount of work, responsiveness and dedication behind the project deserves a great deal of respect. The game has come a long way already and I'm excited to see where it goes next.

Thank you again dear председник
