When new players join War Era, one of the first questions they ask is:
"Should I invest skill points into Hunger immediately?"
The answer may surprise many players.
For most beginners, the answer is no.
At the start of the game, skill points are among the most valuable resources you have. They are limited, difficult to replace, and every point invested early can significantly affect your long-term growth.
Because of that, many experienced players recommend staying at Basic 0 Hunger (9.6 daily recovery) while focusing skill points on other areas that provide a faster return on investment.
A player with Basic 0 receives:
Hunger Limit: 4
Hourly Recovery: 0.4
Daily Recovery: 9.6
This means your economy only needs to produce 9.6 food per day to become completely self-sufficient.
The key question becomes:
Which company level can achieve that?
A Bread Company produces one bread every 10 Production Points.
With the regional production bonus applied:
Level 1 = 3.6 Bread/day
Level 2 = 7.2 Bread/day
Level 3 = 10.8 Bread/day
At Level 3, the company already produces more than the 9.6 daily hunger required by a Basic 0 player.
This makes Bread Company Level 3 the cheapest and fastest path to self-sufficiency.
Steak requires twice as many Production Points.
Production reaches:
Level 5 = 9.0 Steak/day
Level 6 = 10.8 Steak/day
This means a Steak Company must reach Level 6 before it can fully sustain a Basic 0 player.
Possible, but significantly more expensive.
Cooked Fish requires four times the Production Points of Bread.
Even at Level 7:
6.3 Fish/day
That is still below the required 9.6.
A single Level 7 Cooked Fish Company cannot fully support a Basic 0 player.
Every Hunger Skill level increases daily recovery.
That sounds good.
But there is a hidden cost.
A higher Hunger Skill means you must also produce more food every day.
For example:
Basic 0 = 9.6 daily
Skill Level 3 = 16.8 daily
Skill Level 5 = 21.6 daily
Skill Level 10 = 33.6 daily
The more Hunger you have, the larger your food infrastructure must become.
For a new player, this can slow down growth significantly.
Stay at Basic 0.
Build a Bread Company Level 3.
Become food self-sufficient.
Invest early skill points into more impactful areas.
Upgrade Hunger later when your economy is strong enough to support it.
The Collective values efficiency above all else.
A beginner does not need maximum recovery.
A beginner needs sustainable growth.
Many players rush Hunger Skills and then struggle to support their increasing food requirements.
The smarter approach is simple:
First build the economy. Then increase the consumption.
Or, as the Collective would say:
"Adapt before you expand." 🤖🟢
