After weeks of reports, discussions, and concerns raised by yours truly, WarEra moderation has finally acted.
https://app.warera.io/user/69d7e2a06df6b239ebf92b7f has been **permanently banned** for **multimaking and political takeover fraud**.
https://app.warera.io/user/699f610b67883fb52e44e598 receives a mere **5-day suspension** for **Accessory to Takeover Fraud with Multiple Accounts**.
The bans are a significant acknowledgment that the conduct many players documented and reported was, in the moderators' view, serious enough to warrant sanctions.
For those of us who spent weeks gathering evidence, reporting suspicious activity, and trying to protect the integrity of the game, this provides some measure of closure.
But only some.
The actions taken against the accounts answer one question:
**Were the rules broken?**
Apparently, yes.
What they do not answer is the more important one:
**What happens to everything those rule violations accomplished?**
Entire governments changed hands. Alliances expanded. Territory was captured. Diplomatic relationships shifted. Players invested time and resources responding to what has now been confirmed as fraudulent activity.
Those consequences remain.
A permanent ban punishes the individuals responsible, but it does not automatically restore the competitive balance that existed before the fraud occurred.
If the objective is to preserve fair play, then accountability should extend beyond the accounts involved. The game world itself has been altered by actions that moderators have now determined were illegitimate.
This isn't about revenge, nor is it about reopening old arguments.
It's about consistency.
If fraudulent political takeovers can permanently reshape the map, even after those responsible are banned, then the damage outlives the punishment.
The investigation may be over.
The question of restoring competitive integrity is still in the air.
