Many articles and memes here refer to events from the game chat, Discord, wars, political discussions, or personal inside jokes.
For those who were there at the time, the post is probably immediately understandable and very funny.
However, players who are not active in the chat around the clock sometimes only see an image or a short sentence and wonder:
“¿What actually happened?”
It does not need to be a long explanation. One or two sentences are often enough:
“Yesterday, the following happened in the chat …”
“This meme refers to the current war between …”
“Player X did… and then … happened.”
Providing more context benefits everyone:
More players can understand the post.
Memes and jokes work outside your immediate group.
Articles can reach a larger audience.
Readers can participate in the comments and discussions.
Understandable posts may receive more likes, gems, and gold.
Events and running jokes remain understandable later on.
Inside jokes can, of course, remain inside jokes.
A small explanation of the background does not make a meme less funny. On the contrary, it allows more people to laugh along with you.
