Hello everyone! It’s me again, frappa10!
Since the release of V2.0 with MapLibre and the alliance blocs, I’ve been working non‑stop to bring you even more ways to explore the game world.
i've created the Political tool https://app.warera.io/article/69f22a3ee34af8dda7fb9bf4 and..
Today I’m excited to announce a massive update – let’s call it V2.5!
Here’s what’s new:
I’ve added a brand‑new light theme inspired by 19th‑century paper maps. You can now switch between the default dark mode and a warm, parchment‑like look with a single click on the little sun/moon button in the top‑right corner.
The whole interface follows the theme: panels, buttons, legends, even the coastline and border colors change to match the vintage vibe.

You can now view every nation through the lens of active population (countryActivePopulation). The map turns into a yellow‑orange heatmap – lighter means fewer citizens, darker means more.
Numbers are drawn directly on the map, right next to the nation names, so you can compare at a glance.

This is the big one. I’ve added a Weekly Damage mode that reads each country’s weeklyCountryDamages value and paints the world from cool blue (low damage) to deep red (high damage).
Again, the actual damage values are shown on the map – formatted as K/M so they’re easy to read.
And yes, it works perfectly with the Original Borders toggle too, so you can see historical damage distribution even for conquered nations.

📜 Alliance Updates
I’ve also refreshed the alliance blocs to match the latest diplomatic shifts: Many alliances have merged inside the Olive Union, while a new bloc — Southern Maritime Defence — now gathers Australia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Laos, Brunei, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan. The African Union has been updated with its current members. If anything still looks off, let me know and I’ll fix it!

The map engine now uses dynamic theme switching – ocean, land, coastlines, and borders all change color when you toggle the light theme.
The population and damage heatmaps are built with the same visual language as the diplomacy mode, so everything feels cohesive.
I’ve also added a new alliance bloc (Southern Maritime Defence) and updated the existing blocs with the latest data – keep the corrections coming!
🔌 Chrome Extension
If you want diplomatic intelligence directly inside the game, I've also published a free Chrome extension called WarEra Diplomatic Mode. It adds a "Diplomatic OS" button right into the WarEra map interface, giving you instant heatmaps of allies, wars, and threats — plus manual NAP priority and extended diplomacy logic. No more switching tabs: the overlay works directly on the official game map.

☕ Support the Project
If you find this tool useful, you can now buy me a coffee right from the map! I’ve added a little Ko‑fi button floating at the bottom of the screen — just click it and help keep this project alive. Every support really means a lot.
What’s next?
I’m already thinking about a damage distribution pie for selected nations, a timeline of diplomacy changes, and maybe even a battle overlay. But I want to hear from you! What would make this tool truly useful for your strategy?
Drop your ideas in the comments, and as always –
Happy conquering!
