Egypt Reaffirms Its Commitment to the Iraqi–Egyptian Brotherhood

The Kingdom of Egypt reaffirms its deep appreciation for the historic and fraternal relations that unite Egypt and Iraq, and emphasizes its continued commitment to strengthening cooperation between the two brotherly nations.

Following the period of differences and tension that affected relations between Cairo and Baghdad, Egypt believes that dialogue, understanding, and mutual respect remain the proper path toward overcoming differences and building a stronger partnership.

What unites Egypt and Iraq is far greater than any temporary disagreement. Our two nations share deep historical and cultural ties, common interests, and a shared strategic environment that makes cooperation and coordination more important than ever.

🤝 A New Chapter of Cooperation

Egypt welcomes every opportunity to bring the two sides closer together and to bridge differences through direct communication and constructive dialogue.

Cairo remains ready to work with Baghdad to expand cooperation across political, diplomatic, economic, intelligence, and strategic fields, while maintaining mutual respect for the sovereignty and national interests of both states.

Egypt also recognizes the importance of intelligence and strategic coordination between the two countries, particularly in understanding emerging threats, exchanging information, and coordinating positions on matters affecting our common security and interests.

Egypt has consistently maintained that the unity, sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Iraq are matters of fundamental importance.

A stable and secure Iraq serves not only the interests of the Iraqi people, but also contributes to the stability and security of the wider Arab region.

For this reason, Egypt will continue to support Iraq's right to protect its territories, and preserve its national independence without external interference.

The current circumstances require responsible states to look beyond temporary disputes and focus on the broader strategic picture.

Egypt and Iraq have shared interests, shared challenges, and a shared responsibility toward regional stability.

Egypt does not seek to remain focused on the disagreements of the past.
