One goal: Europe
What I'm going to say will probably look crazy for some, but I do believe, sincerely, that an European union is possible. And that it could be of interest of all European countries.
I believe France has a great relationship with Netherlands, Belgium and Italy, and I know France can have great relationship with Spain, Portugal, and probably Germany. We all know we're able to work together. We were able to and if we put our will in it, we can be able to in the future.
Ireland should be free
But it is clear to me that these European alliances could not exist in the future without the consideration of other powers. Of course, I think about Ireland. Ireland won't stay under Belgium control. I know it. I believe we should, all of us, as countries who had once the will to work together, remember how we became close and powerful allies. I think the same could happen with Ireland.
This is the same for Germany, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom and other European countries. France should help as much as possible to protect our allies against other countries seeking unstoppable expansion. But I believe we should not help our neighbors become those ennemies. We're able to talk, to build solid and prosperous projects, so let's do it.
France has to be trustworthy
Belgium government should be smart enough to negotiate with Ireland, talk with them and start a real work together. An Irish ally will be more powerful than a revolting one. As french, I also believe France should become, once again, a country others can count on. A country you know you'll find at your side if things aren't fine. A country you know you'll find on the other side if you cross the line.
And for that reason, France should support discussions between Ireland and Belgium.
French people needs to remember
With the same idea, it is not acceptable that France support Argentina wars, as Portugal and Spain are the ones that need us. Now, and even more in the future, when the opportunity will come. France should not have attacked Italy or Germany, and should not today support Italy attacks. In all this mess, France just lost money, equipment and did not earn anything. At least I did not as french.
We should at least fight for something meaningful.
As french people, we know revolution. We also know Napoleon. And we know resistance. Sometimes we're proud of it. But sometimes we need to be reminded that all those fights were for one goal: freedom.
