• Cleopatra lived closer in time to the Launch of iphone 7 than to the building of the Great Pyramids

  

  The Pyramids were built around 2500 BC, the Iphone 7 launched in 2016 and Cleopatra lived around 30 BC. To Cleopatra, the Pyramids were already ancient history.

• Nintendo was founded while Jack the Ripper was still active

  

  Nintendo was originally established as a playing card company in Japan in September 1889—the very same timeframe (1888-1891) when Jack the Ripper was terrorizing London.

• Sharks are older than trees (and Saturn's rings)

  

  The earliest trees appeared roughly 350 million years ago, whereas sharks have been roaming the Earth's oceans for over 400 to 450 million years. They have survived four of the "Big Five" mass extinctions.

• France was still using the guillotine when the first Star Wars movie came out

  

  Star Wars: A New Hope premiered in theaters in May 1977. France executed its last prisoner by guillotine in September of that same year.
