For Vatou x

Oh Vatou... what did he do?
He saw War Era's balance and thought, "I know what to do."

He crafted an update both mighty and vast,
But somewhere along the way, the fun got outclassed.
The mechanics grew tangled, the systems grew weak,
And players grew frustrated instead of in deep.

The forums turned hostile, the criticism grew,
Till poor Vatou vanished from view.
His account disappeared, his kingdom stood bare,
Leaving only rumours floating through the air.

Most know his goal was to make the game fair,
Not bury the players in obscure rules everywhere.
Perhaps next time simpler ideas would suffice:

A 1% occupier damage debuff could be nice.
Let it grow day by day, til max 100% after 100 days,
So revolts grow ever stronger in a slow rising way.

Making endless occupations eventually fall,
As resistance and unrest slowly answer the call.

Perhaps add occupation upkeep costs that steadily rise,
Especially for regions far from where the occupier's capital lies.

And add a cooldown, where the debuff slowly recedes,
Preventing endless invasions from repeating with ease.

For sometimes the best fixes, as history has shown,
Are the simple little mechanics that work on their own.
