I gave that country everything I had. Time, loyalty, money I didn't need to spend. I told someone once, months ago, that no matter how weak Lebanon got, I'd stay. I meant it.

I'm not going to pretend I left calmly. I was angry. I was hurt. I put in more than anyone asked of me and it still wasn't enough to be trusted with the thing I built. So I packed a bag and walked out the same door I used to walk through with a title attached to my name.

Somewhere over the water, it stopped feeling like a decision and started feeling like a loss.

He was waiting for me when I landed. https://app.warera.io/user/6a159585be92f35cdfc47107 ask why I looked like that. He just grabbed his own bag and said we were doing this together.

We landed to sun instead of rain. Waiting for us on the tarmac: https://app.warera.io/user/69cfec7e5752aefa8bdaba3c, https://app.warera.io/user/68f905ed11af965417ebe6e5, https://app.warera.io/user/69cc148dec0940caa94c336a, https://app.warera.io/user/69ceb632cb0c7ef38742d315 — no fanfare, no ceremony, just four guys who actually looked happy we were there. Handshakes, a couple of "hell yeah, welcome" grins, https://app.warera.io/user/69ceb632cb0c7ef38742d315 already talking like I'd been here for years instead of minutes. It was the first time in weeks someone looked glad to see me without wanting something from me first.

Here I am, relaxing on the Nouakchott port beach (why are there so many boats?) — apparently half the coastline doubles as a boat lot. Nobody warned me.

Maybe https://app.warera.io/user/69815a6b5312557c1fbf27d1 had it right the whole time. He's out there in https://app.warera.io/country/6813b6d446e731854c7ac79c, farming his companies, not thinking about war or politics or who fired who. And here I am, an ocean away from a government that didn't want me, finally understanding why he stopped caring. Maybe politics was never worth what I gave it.

https://app.warera.io/user/6a159585be92f35cdfc47107 take on the beach, when I asked what he actually does out here: "usually, sit back in the chair and eat, then enjoy the view of the horizon with the beach wind."

Honestly — not the worst way to lose a country.

Today's Article is Sponsored by A 4-year-old child in Florida ate frozen blueberries, and this is what happened to her kidneys!!!

Experiencing hematochezia—"hema" from Greek referring to blood, "chezia" also from Greek referring to defecation. In May 2026, the girl consumed store-bought frozen blueberries and the very next day developed severe stomach pain along with watery, bloody stools. At the hospital, imaging revealed intestinal swelling, while microscopic blood examinations showed her red blood cells were being smashed, leading directly to kidney failure. Doctors soon discovered Shiga toxin in her stool, which is produced by a mutant strain of E. coli (O145) that destroys red blood cells so their fragments clog and shut down the kidneys. The Florida Department of Health and the CDC launched an investigation and traced the outbreak to a specific lot of frozen blueberries from a company in Chile, noting that freezing temperatures do not kill this particular bacteria. This contaminated lot ultimately sickened 12 people and hospitalized four across eight different states. Fortunately, after receiving targeted supportive care in the hospital, the four-year-old girl was able to make a full and complete recovery.
