Gaston's Diary #3 : It Giet Oan! 🇳🇱

Quick update on the whereabouts of Gaston.

You guys nailed it. You brilliantly spotted the patches on the luggage: one from Paris, one from Berlin, and an ice skate with the words "It is happening" ("It Giet Oan!")

That was a nod to the Elfstedentocht, the legendary 200km tour-skating event on natural ice in Friesland, Netherland.

Sadly, due to warmer winters, the race hasn't actually happened since 1997.

Still, I can only imagine how hilarious it would be to watch Gaston try to ice skate. :D

The Photo Log

• 10:15 AM - Location : Amsterdam Canals

  The first sync shows him lounging on a boat cruising the Amsterdam canals, looking like he hasn't a care in the world. I have to admit, I’m genuinely amazed by his selfie skills. The monkey is quite the maestro with a camera angle.

  

• 09:30 PM - Location : Red Light District:

  Of course Gaston went to the Red Light District. After seeing him live it up at a football match and a techno club yesterday, I shouldn't be surprised by this escalation.

  The photo shows him staring intensely into one of the illuminated red vitrines. He definitely got caught red-handed.

• 08:45 AM - I give up :

  And then it happened again. I WAS SO CLOSE. I actually spotted his furry little silhouette near a tulip field but he found a riding Dutchman, hopped onto the back of his shoulder, and simply rode off into the distance. I have no idea where he is going now.

I have a confession, guys: I am exhausted. Running after Gaston is draining, and he always manages to slip away right when I think I have him cornered, even with the cloud syncs tipping me off. Honestly, looking at these photos, he is clearly thriving in his newfound freedom, exploring the world and experiencing as much as possible.

I’ve decided to cut my losses, head back home, and leave him be. The silver lining? He still has my phone! As long as he keeps finding ways to charge the battery, I will keep updating you all on his adventures.
