Greenland: or how I stopped to worry and embraced the game!

Welcome to Greenland

After spending time observing the complex political ecosystem of WarEra — made up of alliances, counter-alliances, factions, sub-factions, permanent congresses, and people willing to defend a virtual chair with an intensity that would make some real-world leaders blush — I decided to seek political asylum.

Destination: Greenland.

And I have to say: it's wonderful here.

Life is slow, peaceful, and productive. In the morning, I wake up, check my energy, work, fight when necessary, chat and make jokes with my beloved friends of the glorious https://app.warera.io/mu/6995925be855fe967aeee814 (<3 hugs to you my buooooys) and, when the time comes, I close the browser and return to real life.

A truly extraordinary discovery.

In Greenland, we have embraced a simple but revolutionary philosophy: WarEra is a game.

I know, it's a difficult concept to accept for those who consider managing a browser game community a historic mission entrusted to them by destiny. But that's how things work here: nobody seems interested in conquering the world, founding a political dynasty, or becoming the moral guardian of the community for the next twenty years.

At most, someone goes fishing for salmon.

Of course, it's not all perfect. We have huge problems here too: polar bears make terrible diplomatic allies, the salmon doesn't always bite.

But at least, when the game is over, nobody starts a four-day debate to determine who actually won and who brought more new players into the game.

In Greenland, we work for the community, not to build monuments to ourselves. Discussions eventually end, positions change hands, wars come to an end and, incredibly, the sun still rises even when someone doesn't get re-elected.

It's a land where you can be a level 40 player without having to prove every day that you're ready to lead a nation. Where you can have friends without having to create a political faction. Where you can take part without turning every discussion into a rehearsal for forming a government.

In short, after navigating the stormy seas of egos, strategies, political manoeuvres and attachments to power so intense that you'd think there was an actual ministry at stake somewhere, I arrived among the ice.

And I found something surprisingly warm: a community of people who seem to remember why they opened WarEra in the first place.

To play.

Greenland doesn't yearn fot power, eternal glory, or a place in history.

Greenland yearns for something much rarer.

A little peace.

A little work.

A few battles.

Some friends.

And, above all, the chance to remember from time to time that the server will still be there tomorrow, but so will real life.

Oh, and there are polar bears.

I came for freedom.

I Stay for the salmon.
