I have been wondering myself this thought sincd my first ever battle in Northwest Italy atleast 12 days ago, after noticing that you have an health bar and can lose it in a battle, but I've never seen it go down to 0, so I've started wondering if that would mean your profile's death or something... I don't want to find it out the hard way...
