Quick Info
Track: 151 Rum
Artist: JID
Album: DiCaprio 2 (2018)
Genre / Vibe: Atlanta trap / lyrical rapid fire
First off, the kind of mind it takes to structure a song like this is beyond my level of understanding. This is not just fast rap for the sake of being fast, he is shifting pitches, riding the pockets in the beat and fitting complex multi syllable schemes into fractions of a second while talking about different parts his life. In a good way, This makes the song feel almost claustrophobic with hardly any space left to write anything or even fit in an ad lib. I feel like with rap today if it was any other mind than JID's who did this, it wouldnt be near as good. A big difference from the track featured in - https://app.warera.io/article/6ac7626fa959ed64e5b159ee
Discussion:
Does JID's style fit in rap or do you think it sounds like nonsense ?
Drop your favourite scheme/line that sticks with you after listening.
Is JID better with these faster paced, technical tracks, or would you prefer his slower paced, smooth melodical/gospel style records?
