History of the French Fries, or the absence of belgian culinary culture

As Europe is currently Fighting after a savage attack from belgium on multiple countries, I wanted to go back in time and look at a very old and popular question.

Firstly, let's look at the history of said fries :

According to the Belgian historian specialized in food culture Pierre Leclercq, fries were invented in Paris around 1735, contradicting unsupported version of Jo Gérard, who estimated fries as Belgian, based... on a manuscript that one of his ancestors would have written. The problem is that no one has ever found the said manuscript!

The Belgian historian says it himself: French fries are French, and were also called the "Pomme Pont Neuf" (understand: Potato New Bridge), originally street food from a famous Parisian bridge. So that settles it.

But, in practice, what difference does it make?

First, let's look at real French Fries :
Crispy, a bit brown with a tiny bit of salt ! Mhh... delicious.

Now, the so called "belgian" fries :
In french on the packaging : "Ugly Fries" (with the Belgian Flag in the back).

Yes, belgian fries are actually frozen, belgians don't actually know how to make them !
