As team 1 takes the win on this very competitive tournament, I wanted to look back at the amazing performances of the nations that fought together until the end !
Honourable mentions :
Firstly, I wanted to congratulate Team 1, and especially Germany and Serbia ; they fought with honour, were both very ready for the final fight of this event and absolutely dedicated. I also want to point out that Serbia fought in the event while having three active fights for it's territory, proving it's capacity to do multiple fights at once !
For germany, a quote I noted says it all : "Even if you invade Germany, we will still prioritize the tournament".
For the nations that lost, but fought to the end, now, I wanted to thank them for the fun we had, and for their dedication.
And because we always remember winners, but not always the people that did their absolute best, fought with honour, but did not have the chance to win, let's speak about that with a bit more details :
For the semi-finals, first, I wanted to commend Malaysia, Finland, Ukraine, UK, Latvia and the rest of their team, for their performance. Even if they lost, they still got one round, and grinded team 5 a lot, forcing them to lose massive amounts of ressources in the fight. They tried until the very last second to make it, staying above 48% of total damages !
About the finals, now !
- Firstly, Belgium. On the begining of the tournament, they had other priorities and were a bit missing, creating some frustration in their team, but in less than 24h, they got from 8% total team damages, to a whopping 27% ! Proving to everyone that they were organized, precise, and could bring a lot of force in very little time into any fight.
- France, now, was much more vocal about it's dedication. But for a good reason : with more than 40% total team damages for most of the finals, and more than 50% for the other rounds, they showed absolute dedication and were a real steamroller in this event, never stopping adding damages, even when their players knew a round was lost.
- Mauritius, yes, this little island showed it's strenght to the world ! With only 12 active fighters, they finished 4th in team 5, doing more than 1 million damage per active player. They also did more damage than the 570 Egyptians fighters for most of the round, at a 48 to 1 ratio ! Very impressive. To me, they were the chadest of all chads during this event.
- Denmark also showed some real moral strength : even while their capital was being sieged, and then sadly taken, they continued to fight, and did their absolute best. They could've just left the fight out of frustration, but decided to do the best they could in the worst possible conditions. That's a fighting spirit !
- Finally, I wanted to thank all smaller countries that did their absolute best and were really involved in the fight. They were cooperative, communicative, and optimistic, bringing a boost of moral to the rest of the fighters. Thank you Somalia, Gambia, Liberia, Burkina Faso, South Sudan, Kuwait, and a lot more that i'm probably sadly forgetting.
Thank you all for this very spicy tournament, an event that will be probably be remembered for only a few days, but that will stay, to me, as my first real competitive event.
The moral of the story ? Don't under estimate smaller nations, always try to communicate with allies, be organized, as much as you can, and victory will come to you.
