How I met her (Part 11)

The next evening, her sister texted me and asked if we could meet. I already had a pretty good idea what she wanted to talk about, but I agreed anyway.

We met at the same café where most of this mess had started. She had clearly been thinking about everything since the night before, especially after telling me that she might like me.

She didn't know what was supposed to happen between us. She had just broken up with her boyfriend, her sister was still my girlfriend, and now she had feelings for me. Honestly, I understood why she was confused.

I told her she didn't have to decide anything right now. I wasn't going to pressure her or suddenly disappear just because things had become complicated.

That seemed to calm her down a little, but she still had doubts. She asked if I was actually serious about her or if I was only being nice because she had just broken up.

I told her, “If I didn't want you around, I wouldn't be sitting here.”

She smiled, but I could tell she was still trying to figure me out.

Then she started talking about how she couldn't stop thinking about me since that dinner and how things felt different whenever we were together. I didn't say much. There was no reason to rush anything when she was already getting closer to me.

Eventually, she asked the question I had been waiting for.

“Do you actually want me?”

I smiled. “Do you really need to ask?”

She laughed, and the tension finally disappeared.

We stayed there for a while longer, talking like everything between us was normal. By the time we left, she was still confused about what we were, but she wasn't trying to stay away from me either.

And that was exactly where I wanted her.

She liked me.

My girlfriend still trusted me.

For now, I had both.

The only problem was that neither of them knew the whole story.

And I planned to keep it that way.
