Part 13
The next day, I met her sister like we had planned.
She was already waiting outside the café when I arrived. We went inside, grabbed something to drink, and spent the next hour talking about completely random things.
It felt different from our earlier conversations.
Before, most of our talks had happened because she needed someone to listen to her after the breakup. Now she didn't really need an excuse anymore.
She just wanted to spend time with me.
We talked about university, made fun of some of our classmates, and somehow ended up laughing about things that weren't even that funny.
I started noticing how comfortable she was around me.
There was no awkwardness anymore. She didn't hesitate before texting me, and she didn't seem worried about what I might think of her either.
At one point, she mentioned that my girlfriend hadn't been happy about us meeting alone.
I wasn't surprised.
She didn't say much about it, but I could tell she was thinking about her sister too.
Neither of us brought up what had happened between us at the café a few days earlier. Maybe that was better.
There was already enough complicated stuff between us without forcing another conversation.
After we left, we walked around campus for a while before going our separate ways.
Nothing happened.
No confession.
No dramatic moment.
Just two people who were becoming a little too comfortable with each other.
And honestly, I preferred it that way.
There was no reason to rush.
The more time she spent with me, the more natural everything would become.
The bigger problem was my girlfriend.
She had started noticing how often her sister wanted me around.
And I had started noticing something else.
My girlfriend wasn't just suspicious anymore.
She was getting jealous.
At first, I thought that was dangerous.
Then I realized it could also be useful.
Because if both sisters started caring about where I was, who I was with, and how much attention I gave the other...
I wouldn't have to create the competition.
They would do it themselves.
