Things started changing after that.
Nothing obvious at first. My girlfriend was becoming more protective of my time, while her sister kept finding small reasons to spend time with me.
I didn't mind.
If anything, I was starting to enjoy watching them slowly compete for my attention without realizing I was enjoying it.
A few days later, her sister asked me to meet her that evening.
I already had plans with my girlfriend, so I told her I couldn't.
She didn't argue. She just said, “Okay.”
That night, I stayed home after my plans with my girlfriend were cancelled.
I was lying on my bed when my girlfriend suddenly called.
“Are you with my sister?”
I frowned. “No. I'm home.”
She went quiet.
“She just told me you two went out.”
My first instinct was to video-call her and prove I was actually home.
Then I stopped.
If I did that, everything would be cleared up immediately. My girlfriend would know I wasn't lying, her sister would get caught, and the whole thing would be over.
I didn't want that.
I wanted to know why her sister had lied in the first place.
So instead of proving everything, I simply told my girlfriend the truth. I hadn't gone anywhere.
She believed me, but I could hear the doubt in her voice.
After we hung up, I messaged her sister.
She eventually admitted it.
She had lied about being with me because she wanted to see how her sister would react.
I stared at the message for a moment.
That was new.
She wasn't just trying to get my attention anymore.
She was starting to compete for it.
And now I had two sisters watching each other...
while both of them were watching me.
Honestly, I had no idea how long I could keep this under control.
