How to Make Your Companies More Efficient

You are probably wasting production points that most War Era players eventually learn how to produce.

Far fewer learn how to produce efficiently.

Two players can spend the same Entrepreneurship, hire the same number of workers and own similar companies — yet one of them can generate considerably more value simply because of where the company is located, what is being produced, and whether Production Points are being allowed to sit unused.

Here are a few things worth checking before you spend your next PP.

1. Production Points Are the Real Currency Behind Your Industry

Almost everything you manufacture eventually comes back to Production Points (PP).

That makes PP more valuable than it initially looks.

For example:

1 Grain = 1 PP

But turning that Grain into Bread requires:

10 PP + 10 Grain

Since those 10 Grain already required 10 PP to produce, creating the ingredients and processing them yourself represents 20 PP worth of production for one Bread.

The same logic becomes even more important with expensive products.

Steak

1 Livestock costs 20 PP

1 Steak requires:

20 PP + 1 Livestock

Total production requirement if you create everything yourself:

40 PP

Cooked Fish

1 Fish costs 40 PP

1 Cooked Fish requires:

40 PP + 1 Fish

Total:

80 PP

And Cooked Fish restores 30 Health.

So while Cooked Fish is the most Hunger-efficient food, it is absolutely not the cheapest product in terms of production capacity.

That distinction matters.

Hunger efficiency and PP efficiency are two completely different things.

2. Location Can Give You Free Production

This is one mechanic every company owner should pay attention to.

If your company is located in a region with the corresponding active resource deposit, it receives a 30% production bonus.

That is enormous.

Imagine two players using the same amount of production capacity.

Player A produces a resource without the matching regional bonus.

Player B produces the same resource with the +30% deposit bonus.

Over a small number of production sessions, it may not look dramatic.

Over hundreds or thousands of PP?

Player B is effectively creating significantly more material from the same underlying production effort.

Example

Suppose you plan to build a large Iron operation.

Before simply using the region where you happen to live, check whether another region offers an Iron deposit.

Moving a company costs only 5 Concrete.

If that move gives your company a permanent production advantage while that deposit is active, the relocation can pay for itself extremely quickly.

This is especially important for high-volume producers.

Company location should be an economic decision, not a cosmetic one.

3. Never Let Your Automated Engine Stop

Every company has an Automated Engine that generates PP passively.

At Level 1, it generates:

1 PP/hour

At Level 7:

7 PP/hour

But there is one problem:

Your Storage has a limit.

Once your PP storage reaches maximum capacity, additional passive production is blocked.

This means a full storage is not necessarily something to celebrate.

It can mean:

«Your factory has stopped producing.»

Consider a Level 7 engine producing 7 PP per hour.

If your storage remains full for 10 hours:

7 × 10 = 70 PP of potential production lost.

Leave it blocked for an entire day:

7 × 24 = 168 PP

Do that repeatedly and you're throwing away hundreds — potentially thousands — of PP simply because you didn't empty your storage.

Before logging off for a long period, check your company storage.

If it is close to full, use some PP first.

4. Storage and Engine Levels Should Work Together

A powerful engine with tiny storage can become surprisingly inefficient.

Storage scales from approximately:

Level 1: 200 PP

to

Level 7: 1,400 PP

Think about this based on how often you actually log in.

If you are extremely active, you can collect/use PP frequently, so smaller storage may not hurt as much.

If you only log in once or twice per day, storage becomes much more important because you need enough room for your engine to continue operating while you're offline.

So don't automatically ask:

«“Which upgrade gives me more production?”»

Also ask:

«“Can my storage actually hold the production I'm generating?”»

Production that gets blocked is worth exactly zero.

5. Your Workers Are Selling Production, Not Just Time

Employee work costs the worker 10 Energy per session.

In exchange, that session generates PP for the company based on the worker's Production Skill.

This creates an important consequence for employers:

Two workers are not necessarily equally valuable.

A player with a stronger Production Skill can generate considerably more PP from the same work session.

That means when comparing wages, the important number isn't simply:

How much am I paying this employee?

The useful question is:

«How much am I paying per PP generated?»

Imagine:

Worker A generates 12 PP and costs you $6.

Worker B generates 20 PP and costs you $8.

Worker A:

$6 ÷ 12 = $0.50 per PP

Worker B:

$8 ÷ 20 = $0.40 per PP

Worker B has the higher wage but is actually the cheaper producer.

This is why evaluating employees purely by salary can be misleading.

6. Calculate Your Real Production Cost Before Selling

This is where War Era starts becoming much more interesting economically.

Suppose you see an item selling at a high price.

Your immediate reaction might be:

«“I'll produce it and make money.”»

Not necessarily.

You need to consider:

Raw material PP + Processing PP + Employee wages + Taxes + Opportunity cost of using those PP for something else = Your actual production cost.

Something selling for a higher price does not automatically mean it has a higher profit margin.

Sometimes selling a simpler raw material can produce more profit per PP than manufacturing the finished product.

This is why good traders don't only ask:

«“What sells for the most?”»

They ask:

«“What gives me the highest return for every PP I consume?”»

That is a much better question.

7. Bread vs Steak vs Cooked Fish Is More Complicated Than It Looks

The three foods restore:

Bread: 10 Health

Steak: 20 Health

Cooked Fish: 30 Health

Each consumes only 1 Hunger when eaten.

So purely from the player's Hunger perspective:

Cooked Fish is clearly the most efficient.

But from the producer's PP perspective, the situation changes dramatically.

If you produce both the raw ingredient and processed food:

Bread ≈ 20 PP total production

Steak ≈ 40 PP

Cooked Fish ≈ 80 PP

Now compare Health received per PP:

Bread:

10 HP / 20 PP = 0.50 HP per PP

Steak:

20 HP / 40 PP = 0.50 HP per PP

Cooked Fish:

30 HP / 80 PP = 0.375 HP per PP

Interesting, right?

Cooked Fish wins in Health per Hunger.

But Bread and Steak can be better in Health per PP.

That's exactly why there is no universal “best food.”

The best product depends on which resource you are trying to conserve.

8. Don't Waste Regeneration

Health, Hunger, Energy and Entrepreneurship regenerate at 10% of their maximum every hour.

But they cannot regenerate beyond their cap.

That means sitting at maximum for hours effectively wastes potential regeneration.

If your Entrepreneurship is full and you own companies, consider self-working before leaving the game.

If your Energy is full and you can work, use it.

Why?

Because once the stat reaches its maximum, the regeneration timer can no longer create additional value for you.

A player who consistently spends these resources before they cap can extract considerably more economic activity from the same account over time.

This is one of those small habits that separates active economic players from everyone else.

9. Think in “Value per PP”

This is probably the most important idea in this entire article.

Stop evaluating products only by their market price.

Instead calculate:

Profit / PP consumed

If Product A gives you $100 profit but requires 200 PP:

$0.50 profit per PP

If Product B only gives $70 profit but requires 70 PP:

$1.00 profit per PP

Product B generates less money per unit...

…but your industrial capacity produces twice as much profit when allocated to it.

That's the type of calculation that can completely change which business appears profitable.

War Era's economy looks simple when you first start:

Produce → Sell → Profit

But underneath that is a much more interesting optimization game.

The strongest economy isn't necessarily the player with the most companies.

It's the player who extracts the most value from:

PP, Energy, Entrepreneurship, workers, regional bonuses and time.

Before your next production run, ask yourself one question:

«“Is this really the best use of my next 100 PP?”»
