I joined WarEra with five coins, one limestone company and the kind of confidence only someone who knows absolutely nothing can have.
So I made a sensible decision.
I opened ChatGPT and told it to help me become the best player in the game.
What could possibly go wrong?
At first, it was annoyingly useful.
“Upgrade Production.”
Done.
“Build your economy before wasting money on fighting.”
Fair enough.
“Limestone first, concrete second.”
Also good.
Less than two days later, I was level 10 with two AE3 companies and almost no money, because apparently I had converted my entire net worth into rocks and machinery.
Honestly, not a terrible start.
Then ChatGPT encountered WarEra’s most powerful enemy:
level restrictions.
---
ChatGPT: Sell your limestone.
WarEra: You must be level 7 to trade.
---
ChatGPT: Donate one coin to finish the mission.
WarEra: You must be level 5 to donate.
---
ChatGPT: Leave your job and take the better offer.
WarEra: You joined six hours ago. You now belong to this company for the next 24 hours.
---
At some point I stopped being the student and became customer support for the AI.
The best moment came when I sent it a screenshot of my limestone company’s relocation screen.
It looked at the screenshot and confidently announced:
> “Hold up—this is your concrete company.”
I replied:
> “This is limestone.”
It immediately agreed that yes, this was obviously limestone.
Excellent analysis. Five stars.
The funny thing is that the AI still helped.
It stopped me from spending everything on weapons. It made me check my missions before fighting. It got me thinking about production bonuses, resource regeneration and company chains much earlier than I probably would have otherwise.
But every time it gave me an exact instruction, I learned another important WarEra lesson:
Never trust anyone who sounds too certain.
Not a guide.
Not a veteran.
Not a politician.
Definitely not a robot.
Check the actual button first. The button knows more than all of us.
I’m level 10 now, playing as a Pakistani citizen, with an economy build and two AE3 companies. I’m still new, still learning and still occasionally being told to perform actions the game won’t allow me to perform.
So I have a question for everyone:
What was the first WarEra rule you discovered only after the game slapped your hand and said “not yet”?
Post your best one below.
And if this article prevented even one stupid beginner misclick, feel free to tip me a coin.
It will be invested responsibly in limestone, concrete or my next completely avoidable mistake.
