Address to the Nation and the International Community
President Bahlil Makariem
My fellow Indonesians, and respected leaders of the world,
Today, a new administration takes office in the Republic of Indonesia. I accept this responsibility with humility, determination, and an unwavering commitment to the Indonesian people.
Indonesia is a nation built by sacrifice. Our independence was not given to us, it was earned through struggle, courage, and the unbreakable spirit of our people. From Sabang to Merauke, from Miangas to Rote, our nation stands united under one flag, one homeland, and one destiny.
As President, I declare that Indonesia will pursue peace wherever possible and strength whenever necessary.
My government is open to diplomacy, cooperation, trade, and constructive dialogue with all nations. We seek friendship, not hostility. We seek partnership, not domination. We welcome countries that wish to build a future based on mutual respect and shared prosperity. But let this message be heard clearly by all.
Indonesia shall never bow to invaders.
Indonesia shall never surrender its sovereignty.
Indonesia shall never be intimidated by threats from abroad.
The red and white flag will continue to fly proudly over our islands, our seas, and our people. Any nation that approaches us in friendship will find a reliable partner. Any nation that seeks to challenge our independence will find a people united in its defense.
Our foreign policy will remain guided by wisdom, independence, and national interest. We refuse to become a pawn in the ambitions of others. Indonesia will chart its own course, standing firm in its principles while extending a hand to all who seek peace.
To the people of Indonesia, I promise a government that will work tirelessly to strengthen our nation, protect our sovereignty, and elevate our position among the nations of the world.
To the international community, Indonesia's doors remain open. To those who would threaten our homeland, our resolve remains unshaken.
Long live the Republic of Indonesia.
Long live the Indonesian people.
