What I will tell you is this: our previous presidency has delivered the highest production bonus this nation has ever seen. South Africa is thriving, organising, and building stronger and stronger alliances. So why am I here?
Excellent question.
Things are good. Suspiciously good. And that is exactly why you should be worried, because nothing this good stays this good without someone actively making it worse. That someone might as well be me.
My opponents will promise to maintain the previous regime's momentum. To build on this legacy. To keep the trajectory going. And they might even mean it.
But ask yourself: do you really want to hand a winning streak to someone who thinks they deserve it? I do not deserve this. I know I do not deserve this. And that humility, that bone-deep awareness of my own limitations, is frankly the most qualified thing about me.
So when you step into that booth and your hand hovers over the ballot. Remember.
Remember you have tried sensible. You have tried experienced. You have tried candidates with plans before.

Not because I am the best option. But because at this point, the best option is leaving government, and I am at least entertaining.
