Apparently, people actually liked Part 1.
I have no idea why.
Maybe they enjoyed watching another newbie suffer.
Maybe they saw themselves in the story.
Or maybe everyone in Warera just enjoys watching someone lose their money.
Either way…
I'M BACK.
And unfortunately, I'm still a newbie.
After surviving my first few days, something incredible happened.
I checked my account.
I HAD MONEY.
Not a lot.
But enough to make me feel like Elon Musk for approximately 14 seconds.
I immediately started thinking:
"What should I buy?"
A better weapon?
Food?
Something useful?
No.
I did what every intelligent new player does.
I bought something completely unnecessary.
Five minutes later:
"Where did all my money go?"
The market remained silent.
My bank account remained silent.
My brain remained silent.
Then I discovered the market.
This was dangerous.
Very dangerous.
At first, I thought:
"Buy low, sell high. Easy."
Then I discovered that everyone else had also read that sentence.
I found an item that looked cheap.
I bought it.
Then the price dropped.
I waited.
It dropped again.
I waited longer.
It dropped AGAIN.
At this point, I wasn't investing anymore.
I was adopting the item.
Eventually I sold it for less than I paid.
Congratulations to me.
I had successfully invented reverse profit.
Eventually, I decided to ask an experienced player for advice.
Me:
"Hey, I'm new. What should I do?"
Veteran:
"It depends on your goals, your economy, your country, the market, your military strategy..."
Me:
"Okay."
Veteran:
"Also, don't waste your resources."
Me:
"Okay."
Veteran:
"And don't make random purchases."
Me:
"Okay."
I then immediately went and made a random purchase.
I don't know why.
It's like being a newbie gives you a special ability:
The ability to ignore perfectly good advice.
Then I discovered politics.
This was when I realized Warera wasn't just a game.
It was a simulation of real life.
People argue.
People make promises.
People make plans.
People disagree.
People write extremely long messages.
And somehow, someone is ALWAYS angry.
You open the chat expecting:
"Good morning!"
Instead you get:
"WE NEED TO DISCUSS THE ECONOMIC POLICY OF THE COUNTRY IMMEDIATELY."
Brother.
It's 7 AM.
I haven't even eaten breakfast.
To be continued…
