Lithuania has formally declared war on Finland, marking a sharp escalation in the already tense situation in Northern Europe. The declaration follows sustained pressure from the Netherlands, which has so far refrained from launching direct military action itself.
According to Finnish assessments, Dutch leaders have chosen not to commit their own forces, but instead directed Lithuania to act on their behalf. Officials in Helsinki describe Lithuania as a de facto vassal state of the Netherlands, stating that “there is no genuine partnership between them – Lithuania simply does what the Netherlands orders.”
Finland and the B.E.E.R. alliance stress that they have at no point carried out hostile military actions against any other state. Their stated sole objective is to secure the full independence of each member country, free from foreign occupiers or controlling powers. In this light, Finnish authorities emphasize that any military action directed against Finland or other B.E.E.R. member states must be regarded as illegitimate and criminal aggression.
Finland continues to prepare for a possible large-scale conflict, including the prospect of prolonged guerrilla warfare in the event of occupation.
The Finnish government is calling on all countries worldwide to condemn Lithuania’s actions and to stand firmly on the side of Finland’s independence and territorial integrity.
