The Swedish Resistance has over the last few days devised a plan to rid the country of the Dutch invaders. The strategy is simple, yet devilishly clever in its execution.

The operation known internally as Operation Absolutely Not A Trap relies on one simple truth: Dutch people cannot resist bicycle signs.

Bike signs were carefully posted at the summit of the great mountain Kebnekaise. The work required to create these signs was extensive and the results were obviously of the very highest professional standard. Experts agree there is absolutely no possibility whatsoever of the Dutch invaders realizing that this is in fact a trap.

This tactic was first tested during the Winter Olympics earlier this year with remarkable success. Curling related incidents involving Canada demonstrated the effectiveness of carefully placed signs. The Swedish Resistance expects similarly impressive results this time around.

There was however one tragic side effect.

While the tactic proved surprisingly effective it unfortunately also worked on the Canadian beavers. These noble furry creatures are dearly loved and adored by the Swedish people.

The Swedish King himself is known for his deep affection for Canadian beavers. Yet with tears in his eyes he delivered a speech still remembered and frequently quoted to this day:

"We all have to make sacrifices for our country even if that sacrifice includes beaver."

History may judge the methods of the Swedish Resistance but none can deny their commitment, their ingenuity or the undeniable professionalism of their mountaintop bike signs.

Compensation claims for affected Canadian beavers are currently under review.

Sweden remains vigilant.
The mountains remain patient.
The bike signs remain professional.
