Movement update - suggestion: Anchor points

Hello,

I just saw the pool about the battle movement restriction, the change also known as "movement update".

I noticed just 45% voted to keep it, 16% that it's to strict and 35% for remove it.

I also dont really like it, I can't even tell why.

But I still think it's a step in the right direction. Attacking and defending anywhere on the globe without restrictions seems strange.

I was thinking about it and I had an idea:

Can the system be more nation based?

Every XX hours or once a week, each nation could choose an anchor point. Players from that nation would then only be able to attack or defend within a certain radius around that point.

This could solve a few problems.

  • Individual players wouldn't be able to travel all over the world just to farm bounties.

  • Nations would be forced to focus on a specific region, which would make warfare feel more realistic.

  • Logistics and strategic positioning would become a responsibility of the government rather than individual soldiers.

It could also help balance very large nations. A country with a huge player base couldn't attack on one side of the world and immediately defend on the other side just because they have more players. The government would have to think carefully about where to place its anchor point.

The details would obviously need some fine tuning, such as the radius around the anchor point and how often it can be moved.

You could even make additional anchor points a political or party skill, so a nation might eventually unlock two active anchor points.

Within the anchor area, players could then move normally and use their movement points or oil as they do now.

What do you think about that system?

I really like the aspect that it keeps units of a nation more bundled and concentrated.

It offers also a counter play, seeing the enemy far away from their own territory might be a great time to invade them.
