The M3A1 is US's upgrade of the original M3 submachine gun, also know as the "Grease gun".
Mr. George Hyde and Frederick Sampson designed the M3A1 to be lighter, more easily maintained and more reliable than the M3.
It features a 30 round magazine loaded with .45 ACP which is 11.43x23 mm in normal units.
The gun can fire at 450 rpm and achieve 280 m/s of muzzle velocity, granting it an effective range of up to 100 meters.
Approximately 15.5k were produced during WW2 and another 33k for the Korean War.
It could fit a silencer, as 5000 were made to be fitted on either the M3s or the M3A1s.
