500+ hours and over idk how many worlds and mods, i still love terraria, if i would have a chance to forget about it ,rediscover it and play it again i would, people say its a 2d minecraft clone and to that i would just laugh atp. Never ever will a turtle be more scary in minecraft to me in full netherite armour, never ever will i defeat a multiversal entity and still get killed by a boulder and never will i hear that funky ass underground caves theme.

#2 Hollow knight/silksong

The most anticipated sequel of an indie game, crashed Steam, Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and Microsoft Store that something most AAA games could not, and that is for valid reasons. While most AAA studios create cheap money grabs with no soul, team cherry did the opposite they took their time , and made a game with soul and character. A game which made pirates buy it and the piracy community (atleast some of it) agreed to buy this game, and that statement says a lot about this game.

Although i havent completed silksong, i have played a major part of it, and with 200 hours on the prequel i can only say one thing, its soo peak, i would even say that these games revived the metroidvania genre.

#3 Blasphemous

This game is kinda more of a serious pic for me, its not that i am concerned about the gore/art in this game but more about the message it tries to convey to the audience. This games shows how a fickle minded populous can destroy itself through just blind belief and not questioning what and why they are doing the things they do, slowly destroying their rational without realizing it and blindly following a concept,theory, idea or entity. 

I wont point fingers on how this applies to today's world but ig you just need to see the present conflicts that the world is facing rn and try to find some relations between the things represented in this game.

#4 Geometry dash

Ahh GD a 2d rhythm platformer , where every damn limitation is tested, human limits, hardware limits or even the limits of the game itself. The game itself is 2d but some people looked at it and said "nuh uh" and made 3d fucking maps in the game. This game has a map that goes over the Apollo program,with real photos from the mission. With a very active and unhinged  community this game is alive as ever.

#5 Ultrakill

This game is in the last of my list only because i havent played it yet, else it would be the first. If you havent realised by seeing my name i am a big fan of Dante Alighieri's works, anything with reference to his work is entertaining to me and with hakita referencing it in his game in like every layer.

i have seen ppl say its just a shittier doom copy or something like that, but well can you ride a damn missile in doom? can you kill enemies with pocket change? or can you even make the combat feel soo inclusive that everything ties with each other perfectly? Well lets not compare games doom also is a great game but just demeaning other games as just a cheap copy of other is just retarded.
