Day 2
π§π» Norway π§π»
In Norway π³π΄, there is a small town called Longyearbyen located in the Svalbard archipelago where it is officially illegal to die!
This unusual law exists because the ground is permanently frozen (permafrost), which prevents human bodies from decomposing. As a result, viruses and bacteria remain perfectly preserved inside corpses for decades. If a resident becomes gravely ill or approaches the end of their life, they are flown to the Norwegian mainland to live out their final days and eventually be buried.
