As the commander of the military unit "Ghost," I issue this official statement today to clarify our firm and unwavering position regarding recent developments and the ongoing conflict between Niger and Algeria:
Complete Abstention from the Conflict: We officially declare that the "Ghost" unit will not engage in any military operations or armed disputes between the two parties.
Rejection of All Forms of Hostility: We categorically and absolutely reject all forms of hostility, incitement, or attacks directed toward either Algeria or Niger.
Sovereignty and Lasting Peace: Our highest priority and steadfast goal is for Algeria and Niger to live in complete, comprehensive, and lasting peace. Furthermore, we emphasize the necessity for both Portugal and Niger to adhere to the peace treaty concluded between them, in order to bring an end to this prolonged and ongoing hostility.
Recognition of Sovereignty and a Peaceful Resolution: We call for an immediate peaceful resolution to definitively end this conflict, while fully recognizing Algeria as an independent, sovereign state whose integrity must remain inviolable.
A Message to Governments and Concerned Parties:
The language of war does not build nations. Therefore, we urge and demand that all concerned parties—the governments of Algeria, Niger, and Portugal—come to the negotiating table immediately. We call for the adoption of diplomacy to open new avenues for serious consultation, ensuring the rights of all and preventing further bloodshed.
