Don't worry. The tents are still there. The long wooden tables are still there. The beer... well, we replaced it with Chianti. You'll thank us later.
The lederhosen? Retired. We've issued everyone an Armani suit. You're welcome.
The oompah band? Gone. Toto Cotugno is playing on loop. This is not up for discussion.
For years, Bavaria has tried to claim its own identity. But the sky above Munich has always been Azzurro, and the people have always known it deep down. This year, we're just making it official.
The Italian flag now flies over the Marienplatz. Espresso machines have been installed on every corner. And somewhere, a Nonna is already making fresh pasta for 10,000 people and complaining that nobody eats enough.
Tickets are available. Dress code is mandatory. No bratwurst at the door.
Benvenuti in Italia, Bayern. Benvenuti.
