One Rule for Everyone — Or Different Rules for Different People? (Double Standards)

I am writing this not because I received a timeout
i never engaged IRL stuff , i never insulted anyone, i never broke a rule
and just having fun - my acc is clean never got a mute ban or warn

I am writing this because something much bigger happened, and I believe Arab and Muslim players deserve to know about it.

This started with a dispute involving a player named ForKIll and players from Libya.

At first, it was mostly jokes and arguments between a few people. https://app.warera.io/user/6a077b4e32ebbcbebe12a3c3repeatedly combined the Libyan flag AND ISLAM with an LGBTQ flag Then involved ALLAH and made comments about ALLAH AND Libyans, including comments about their race and skin color.

It was already becoming disrespectful, but it was still an argument between individuals.

Then something happened that changed everything.

A picture was posted showing our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, holding the Qur'an, with an LGBTQ flag in the background and the words “Muhammed for LGBT” written on the shirt.

For Muslims, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is not simply another historical figure or another person to make jokes about.

He is our Messenger.

He is the person we love and respect more than anything in this world.

So when I saw that picture, I honestly could not believe it was allowed to be posted in a game whose rules, as I understand them, call for respect toward people's beliefs and prohibit bringing real-life religious issues into the game.

I expected action.

I expected the rules to apply.

Instead, from what I personally witnessed, ForKIll was not punished for that post.

And this is where my question begins.

What happens when the roles are reversed?

If someone makes content involving LGBTQ people, there appears to be a serious expectation that it must not cross a line.

I understand that.

Everyone deserves to be treated with respect.

But then I have to ask:

Why does that same principle not appear to apply when the target is Islam, Muslims, or the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ?

I raised this directly with an administrator, https://app.warera.io/user/69bae5f81348cf457e2ace23, because I wanted an explanation rather than a fight.

I asked why ForKIll had apparently received support while people defending their religion were receiving timeouts or bans.

The response I received was essentially that if a joke does not hurt or cross the line, then it is allowed.

But then I had to ask myself:

Was that picture really considered harmless?

Because if a picture depicting the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ alongside an LGBTQ flag and the phrase “Muhammed for LGBT” is considered an acceptable joke, then what exactly is the line?

And who decides where that line is????

Then I made a joke.

I made what I considered a simple joke.

It was not intended to insult LGBTQ people.

It did not attack anyone's personal identity.

Yet I received a 7-day timeout.

My messages from that day were also deleted, and the response I had received from the administrator to my question was later no longer visible, btw all my messages for that day got deleted even the one that i was just asking what and how this picture is allowe so even the freedom of speech against the rules also

freedom of making fun of other beliefs and no freedom for asking why this allowed!!!...

That is what made this much bigger than a simple timeout.

Because now the issue is not:

“Why did I get punished?”

The real issue is:

“Why does the same standard not appear to apply to everyone?”

If a rule exists, enforce it.

If a joke is allowed, then allow jokes under the same standard.

If something crosses the line, punish it regardless of who posted it.

But please do not create one standard for one group and another standard for another.

We are not asking for special treatment.

This is important.

I am not asking administrators to ban LGBTQ players.

I am not asking them to punish people simply because they have different beliefs.

I am asking for something much simpler:

Equal treatment.

If insulting someone's identity is against the rules, then it should be against the rules.

If insulting someone's religion is against the rules, then it should be against the rules.

If jokes are allowed, then the same boundaries should apply to everyone.

And if the rules do not prohibit something, then they should not suddenly become stricter when the people involved are Arab or Muslim.

A rule is only a rule if it applies regardless of who is standing in front of the administrator.

To my Arab and Muslim brothers and sisters

I know many of us have become used to seeing things against our beliefs online.

We see something.

We get angry.

We say, “Ignore it.”

Then we move on.

And sometimes that is exactly what we should do.

Islam does not teach us to respond to every insult with violence, hatred, or chaos.

Our Prophet ﷺ taught us something very different.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“Whoever among you sees something evil, let him change it with his hand; if he is unable to do so, then with his tongue; and if he is unable to do so, then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith.”

Sahih Muslim 49a.

مَنْ رَأَى مِنْكُمْ مُنْكَرًا فَلْيُغَيِّرْهُ بِيَدِهِ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَبِلِسَانِهِ، فَإِن... لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَبِقَلْبِهِ، وَذَلِكَ أَضْعَفُ الإِيمَانِ» [رواه مسلم]

Look carefully at the order.

First, change what is wrong if you have the authority and ability.

If you cannot, speak.

And if you cannot even speak, at least reject it in your heart.

That is what I am doing now.

I tried speaking privately.

I tried asking questions.

I tried understanding why the rules were being applied differently.

And when I could not understand the answer, I decided to speak publicly.

Not to attack anyone.

Not to threaten anyone.

Not to harass anyone.

But because remaining completely silent would mean pretending that I am satisfied with something I genuinely believe is unfair.

This is bigger than ForKIll.

I don't want this article to become a war against one player.

This is not really about ForKIll anymore.

It is about the people responsible for enforcing the rules.

Administrators have an enormous amount of power in an online community.

They can mute you.

They can delete your messages.

They can ban you.

That power comes with responsibility.

And the most basic responsibility is consistency.

You cannot tell one community:

“Your beliefs deserve protection.”

while telling another:

“It's just a joke.”

You cannot demand respect for one identity while treating another person's deepest beliefs as something that can simply be laughed at.

Respect cannot be selective.

To the administrators

I am not asking you to agree with Islam.

I am not asking you to share our beliefs.

I am not asking you to like Muslims.

I am asking you to enforce your own rules consistently.

If the picture involving the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was acceptable under your rules, explain why.

If it was not acceptable, then explain why there was no punishment.

If my joke crossed the line, explain exactly which rule it violated.

And if my joke deserved a 7-day timeout, then explain why the earlier content did not deserve comparable treatment.

I am completely willing to accept that I can be wrong.

Humans make mistakes. Administrators make mistakes. Players make mistakes.

But admitting a mistake and correcting an inconsistent decision is not weakness.

It is fairness.

To every Arab and Muslim player reading this

Do not turn this into harassment.

Do not insult anyone.

Do not threaten anyone.

Do not attack LGBTQ players.

Do not attack the administrators personally.

And do not give anyone an excuse to say that Muslims are asking for special treatment.

Instead, ask one simple question:

Are the rules the same for everyone?

That's it.

Not:

“Are you Muslim?”

Not:

“Are you LGBTQ?”

Not:

“Are you Arab?”

Not:

“Are you friends with the admin?”

Just:

Are the rules the same for everyone?

Because if they are, then prove it through consistent enforcement.

And if they are not, then the community deserves an honest explanation.

Our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ deserves our love.

Our religion deserves our respect.

And every player deserves equal treatment under the rules of the game.

We are not asking for privileges.

We are asking for the same respect that is expected from us.

If you want us to respect your beliefs, then respect ours.

If you want us to follow the rules, then enforce those rules equally.

And if you make a mistake, admit it.

Because nobody is asking for perfection.

We are asking for fairness.
