From Lisbon's shores to Warsaw's square
While seagulls fly amidst the Portuguese air
Two distant lands, by fate aligned
In hearts and hopes, a thread entwined
Portugal, with her sails of old
Stories of spice and seas retold
Poland, proud in stoic might
A white eagle rising from every fight
When storms of war would test their will
The alliance held them steady, still
Portuguese caravels set sail
To aid when Polish troops grew pale
And when the Tagus called for aid
The Vistula's sons their debt repaid
Through ocean wide and river's glide
Two birds flying side by side
The seagull's cry, the eagle's might
Together soaring toward the fight
An oath was made, all have heard
Sealed in trust, in sacred word
With solemn vows hung in the air
A pact was woven there
In cobbled streets of Coimbra's grace
Polish craftsmen found their place
While in Krakow's ancient halls
Portuguese art adorns the walls
So raise a toast on Gdańsk’s old floors
And hear it crash on Porto's shores
If ever nations stood so tall
T'was when they answered freedom's call
