Pope Tassilo I abdicates after his first term!

My brothers and sisters in Christ,

after my first term I have decided to abdicate and leave the seat to the next Pope who is currently being elected.

My reign was mostly that of peace but also stagnation.

I had big plans for the Vatican but other than some new diplomatic ties I didn't manage to grow our population nor was I able to improve our economic situation.

Since I failed to deliver on my promises I think it is best to give the reigns of power to someone else who might be able to lead more efficiently and wise.

I apologize to those I have disappointed and while some say they were happy with my more subtle leadership I want only the best for the seat of the Catholic church.

After transition of power I will reassume my life as a humble monk. I think this way of life fits me far better.
