“The Netherlands wins the war - but not in the long term.” That is the forecast presented by WarEra Analytic Center (WEAC).
“The Dutch war machine has proven far weaker than expected.“
The Netherlands holds an expansive view of the world order and appears to have taken a particular interest in the Nordic region. The Swedes have put up fierce resistance, and although they have temporarily lost the war, they have also caused the Dutch considerable trouble.
When the smoke clears from the battlefield, the Dutch soldier can only conclude: We are not strong enough - and we are losing in the long run.
The Dutch war machine has proven far weaker than expected. Without enormous financial support from abroad, the Netherlands would stand little chance. Despite lacking the same economic backing, the Swedes managed to inflict the greatest damage ever seen in a single battle.
“Compared to the Swedes, the Netherlands is actually rather weak,” says researcher Otto Weissmann at WEAC.
The Netherlands, once a global power, is now dependent on donations from wealthier allies. As a result, analysts consider it unrealistic for the country to maintain its imperial influence in the long run.
“Give the Swedes and Germans, with their numbers, a few more levels, along with stronger economies across the board. The Netherlands has the war today - but not tomorrow.”
“We are already planning for a Swedish tourist paradise in Holland”
The Swedish government sees the same pattern and is therefore preparing for a future guerrilla war aimed at exhausting the Netherlands over time. In the future, the cost will simply become too great for them.
“We are already planning for a Swedish tourist paradise in Holland,” says a source within the Government Offices. “The question is not if - but when.”
