You’ve probably seen me joking around in global chat saying things like:
“mods are fascists”
“mods are violating the Geneva convention”
and other nonsense.
Yeah, most of that was satire. With a bit of truth
But at the same time, it came from things I genuinely observed myself while playing.
For example:
https://app.warera.io/user/693eeb1f6e836f51253ab14egot muted for 7 days after saying “fuck you” in all chat. From what I saw, it wasn’t even serious harassment — it was obvious joking around between players.
Then https://app.warera.io/user/69617687e27934d5f09d8594 got muted for posting two messages in Finnish in global chat.
What made it even funnier was the speed. Those mutes happened almost instantly, like moderators were monitoring global chat through military satellites.
That’s why all the “CIA moderation” and “mute industry” jokes started.
At first I treated it as funny.
But over time I started noticing something that honestly stopped being funny.
People kept sending me screenshots of questionable bans and mutes.
And at the same time, I started seeing genuinely disgusting stuff staying completely untouched in global chat.
Some of you probably saw my previous article involving Russians.
https://app.warera.io/article/6a005961cdf7273ff48eab4f
This is not about continuing drama from that article.
This is about moderation consistency.
Because now let’s compare things for a second.
Someone says “fuck you” joking around in global chat.
Result?
7 day mute.
Someone drops two messages in Finnish.
Result?
Muted almost instantly.
Meanwhile we have screenshots of people making jokes about actual historical tragedies and deportations connected to real-life suffering and war crimes.
BY THE WAY, I'VE ASKED CHAT GPT TO MERGE THOSE SCREENSHOTS INTO ONE IMAGE IT REFUSED TO DO SO:

AND THE SCREENSHOTS:

And somehow THAT stays untouched.
One screenshot talks about Lithuania and NATO — okay, whatever. There is no Nato in game, he clearly talks about IRL stuff.
But the other screenshot?
That’s joking about the 1941 deportations to Siberia.
For people who don’t know:
those deportations were real historical mass deportations carried out by the Soviet regime. Thousands of Lithuanians and other Baltic civilians were forcibly taken from their homes. Many died in camps, exile, starvation, or brutal conditions.
That is not some random meme topic.
And before someone twists my words:
No, I’m not trying to compare tragedies or say this is “equal” to something like the Holocaust.
What I AM saying is that it’s the exact same category of behavior:
making jokes about real historical suffering and mass deportations.
Imagine German players joking about deporting Jews during WWII and then everyone pretending it’s just harmless humor.
That’s why this feels insane to me moderation-wise.
And honestly?
I’m not even someone who wants people banned for every edgy joke.
Games need freedom.
Global chat being chaotic is part of what makes it entertaining.
But if jokingly saying “fuck you” gets you muted for 7 days…
…then joking about real deportations and historical atrocities should obviously be treated more seriously.
Instead, right now moderation feels completely backwards.
Minor trash talk:
INSTANT ACTION ⚡
Foreign language:
INSTANT ACTION ⚡
And to be clear:
I’m not even saying messages like that should just get muted.
That kind of stuff should honestly be an actual temporary or even Permenent ban for at least a few weeks, because there’s a massive difference between edgy banter and openly mocking real historical suffering.
