Well, folks… it’s that time again. Promises are being made, reputations are being tested, and suddenly everyone has always had the citizens’ best interests at heart. 😂
With Congress elections fast approaching, the WarErZa Newsroom is putting the candidates in the hot seat.
We asked every candidate the same question — no special treatment, no carefully selected questions, and no hiding behind campaign slogans.
So, who actually has a plan for South Africa, and who has simply mastered the art of sounding like they do?

Why should the citizens of South Africa vote for you for Congress, and what can they expect from you if you are elected?

I am DancingCow, I ran for president and came 2nd place in the elections, with a average of 13 hours a day I can be the first to vote on a law. I know my stuff in game, especially bounties and strategies. Vote for me, and you vote for the future. Make South Africa the nation and not a nation!

I am reliable, consistent and will remind the president to vote. I am also currently managing our alliances server so can bring Horizon concerns to the table and vice versa.

I'm very active, so i normally vote quickly. I've got a pretty decent knowledge of the game mechanics and political landscape so i always have an opinion on decisions and I'm not shy to give it. I'm also always available for the citizens of the country to hear their concerns and ensure that congress is acting in their best interests.
I have always served the citizens of the country and i believe my previous presidency, vice presidency and multiple stints in congress prove that. I took quite a long break from the game after my presidency - I was still active in game but I stepped away from politics. I'm ready to get back into politics, I miss it. By running for congress I am telling the people of the country that I am back and ready to serve.

South African's should vote for me due to my immense and varied experience in the game, I have experience in nearly every position in government, I have made and led alliances I am multi skilled and I love the community and hope to contribute to South Africa. They can expect me to work for them to the best of my abilities.

Why should SA vote for me? well tbh this would be my first time in congress and i think that's my biggest strength. I'm not part of any old drama, i just genuinely want to serve SA. I'm active everyday, i fight, i vote, always on discord. I will be active and vote on all laws, not be afk. I will support low taxes for food/weapons so its easier for new players, and support our army and MU's 100%. And with VIP we have a real plan to help new players stay and grow. So yeah vote for me = active, transparent congressman who actually works for SA.

I´m the person that always has your back. I am also the person that will be up until 3am, writing, debating and overall trying to improve South Africa. I am, in my opinion, present. My track record speaks for itself. You will have a congress member who is not afraid to put the work in. A congress member who will be active, not just as a vote-bot, but through politics and open arms, someone who will be engaging. If you want someone that cares, and not someone that just covets a congress membership, then vote for me.

The 2 main functions of a Congress member are to vote on laws as quickly as possible and to give your opinion on congress matters. As the MoE, I am already in a position to provide my inputs so it’s the voting on laws where I would be useful. I spend a lot of time online so I am able to react to voting quickly and with insight.

I believe that no citizen should consider me at this time. My congregational campaign was completely accidental and as result of curiosity of "what does this button do..."
Additionally, I have neglected my comrades pursuit to victory in multiple battles by my pursuit to gain wealth and potentially reach top 100.

Hey, I would say they should vote for me because I am experienced, terminally online, and always voicing my opinions. I am also their Minister of Defense and I will shoot them if they don't listen.

Thanks for that question. I may have started WarEra 2 months ago, but this has become a serious outlet for me. I can use meta strategy (APIs, game rebalancing, new features,) and building relationships to make SA stronger and more cohesive. I really like the team work that comes with responding to threats like the recent Chile deception, the rebalancing of the alliance system, and the possible mobilisation costs for battling in far away lands. These are just recent cases where Congress needs to be decisive and pass laws that will protect SA citizens.
👆This is the level that I would be happiest in contributing to. There seems to be a long history of inactive Congress members THAT will not be me. My main play style is not to be the one capable of changing the outcome of a battle. It is to set up the theater of war in a way that citizens do high damage and feel accomplished, or have 12 AE6 companies and feel invested enough to fund SA development and war.

Well, I have spent 2 terms in Government, so I understand what is required of the congress and that is to push button as quickly as possible.
More than that i think we often get a very "yesman" style congress that just does whatever the president recommends, and this can make decisions quick. However the point of congress is to discuss and I don't just promise to do that I have BEEN doing it for the last month as a regular citizen. It would be nice to reply in the congress chat and not have to forward messages to OPSEC to talk about them.

As an ex-VP of South Africa about 8 months ago, I’ve been in Congress every term since. The people of South Africa know the name Spacemuis. Active multiple times daily and always voting on new laws in the interest of South Africa. As 2IC of the 14th Artillery SANDF MU, I am always rounding up our troops and aligning our MU orders to those of South Africa.
I also have contact with multiple allied Countries as we are constantly chasing contracts for them to support them in their fights and to keep our enemies away from our own borders. When elected, I will continue to act in the best interest of South Africa and her people.

Even though I am party leader of The VIP I didn't run for president because I don't have enough experience with politics in warera to run a country, so I thought I'd start small (congress) and work my way up. Unlike most candidates I'm not doing this because I want to rule, but because I want to help, doesn't matter to me whether it's as a minister or as a congress member, I just want to help.
As for what they can expect from me I urge them to read my article on checks and balances (why democracy is broken and how the ancient greeks fixed it), congress is there to keep the executive in check, and I promise that's what I'll do.
We have heard absolutely nothing from the rest of the candidates… 👀 Either they’re still preparing their master plan, or they’ve gone into hiding or they joined the ballot while I wasn't looking. 😂
