I have been in South African politics for quite some time, I always try to give my opinion, I always like to debate things because I think a collective voice can always make better decisions than one single person. We are lucky in South Africa to have built an incredible community and that is where our strength comes from.
When I campaigned for the role of president I promised my people chaos and war. I also said that South Africa was a sleeping giant that needed to wake up and announce itself to the world and show everyone the strength we have. Well during my presidency we have managed to become the country with the largest production bonus in the world, we have made ourselves invaluable to our allies and we have dealt 546m damage since the 12th of this month. That is 41% of our all time damage.
I want to thank my cabinet, my congress and every member of our community - without you none of this would have been possible. Thank you to our allies for helping to guide us and for working together in order to achieve our goals. And thank you to our opponents for challenging us to be better, at the end of the day this is just a game and we should all have a mutual respect for one another.
I believe I have given my all in this role and unfortunately I do not feel like I have much left to give and for that reason I cannot continue. The President needs to be able to commit 100% to the people and to advancing the goals of the nation and it would be selfish for me to continue while knowing I simply cannot commit that time and effort.
During my term I believe I have built the foundations for a new and fresh government. I have put systems in place to engage other players into politics and decision making in order to try foster the next generation of leaders in the country and now it is time for those fresh faces to step up to the task and build upon what this great nation has become.
The foundations are there, the systems are in place, now it is time for you - the citizens - to take full advantage and reach for the stars. And to all of our babies that have recently joined us, I hope you can truly embrace what this community is. If you embrace it, engage and communicate I assure you that you will have a great time and that you will find great people who you can call your friends.
If there is one lesson that my Presidency can teach you, I hope that the lesson would be that you should not fear making mistakes. Everybody makes mistakes but the way you handle those mistakes, accept responsibility and grow is the most invaluable lesson you can learn. There is no space for egos, you are voted in by the people to serve the people and that needs to be your top priority.
I may no longer be President at the end of my term but one thing is certain - I will always be apart of this community, giving my all to ensure that South Africa retains the status that it has earned and deserves.
