Stockholm Announces the Liberation of Copenhagen

After careful consideration, the Swedish High Command has launched Operation Brotherly Assistance.

The objective is simple:

To rescue the Danish people from their so-called Belgian colonizers, who have apparently remembered that Denmark exists only when it is convenient for them.

For too long, Copenhagen has been left to fend for itself while its Inglorious Bastards colonial masters pursue their own ambitions elsewhere.

Sweden could not stand by and watch.

The Danish people deserve better.

They deserve a Denmark run by Danes, for Danes — not abandoned by distant foreign powers who disappear the moment things become inconvenient.

Reports from the front indicate that Danish resistance has been... confusing.

Several defenders reportedly attempted to negotiate in Danish, but unfortunately we couldn't understand a word they were saying, while others insisted the Swedish intervention could wait until after lunch because the pølser were almost ready.

Sweden wishes to make our intentions perfectly clear:

• End Danish dependence on their Belgian overlords.

• Protect Denmark's neglected core regions.

• Give the Danish people the opportunity to govern Denmark for themselves.

• Encourage Denmark to finally stop messing around and rejoin its Nordic brothers.

• Build a few LEGO sets together.

• Drink unreasonable amounts of BEER.

• Continue making fun of each other's languages, as Nordic tradition demands.

Sweden does not come as a conqueror.

We come as the slightly judgmental older brother who has been watching from across the Öresund while Denmark gets abandoned by its own allies and thinking:

"Alright. That's enough. We're going in."

The future of Denmark is now in Danish hands.

The question is simple:

Will Denmark continue serving foreign interests, or will the Danes finally stand up, take back their country, straighten their LEGO backs, and join their Nordic brothers once and for all?

Sweden believes the answer is obvious.

To the Danish people we say:

Lay down your weapons.

We'll bring the BEER.

You provide the smørrebrød.

Together, we shall rebuild Denmark.

The Belgian colonial administration may have abandoned you.

Your Nordic brothers have not.
