Sweden has introduced a new battlefield strategy.
The method is praise.
It is not being used kindly.
Swedish personnel begin complimenting Dutch soldiers during active movement.
“great energy, very bike-lane authoritarian”
“you’re occupying this area with confidence despite being mentally challenged, kudos!”
“love the urgency, hate the result”
“you have very strong temporary manager vibes”
The Dutch unit slows down immediately.
No one wants to find out what the next compliment means.
The praise becomes more specific.
“excellent posture, deeply unthreatening”
“you look adorable with your little hat and your tank”
“that weapon stance says direct communication, weak upbringing”
“you’re doing amazing for someone clearly improvising”
One Dutch soldier attempts to push forward.
A Swedish voice behind him says, “brave.”
He stops at once.
Sweden begins praising individuals instead of the group.
“you’re actually the best one here, which is devastating for the others”
“if this is your good side, we understand the formation now”
“you have the confidence of a country that decorates bicycles”
“this would be embarrassing even if you weren’t trying”
A second soldier laughs.
The praise turns to him.
He does not laugh again.
The compliments are now tailored.
“that was a very direct mistake”
“you’ve somehow weaponized stupidity against yourselves”
“we appreciate how visibly Dutch this failure is”
“you’re giving occupation, but in a customer-facing way”
One soldier lowers his weapon.
A Swedish civilian nods politely.
"yeah,” he says, “that suits you better”
The weapon is not raised again.
The Dutch unit remains in the area.
It is no longer doing anything Dutch people would call efficient.
Sweden confirms the strategy is working.
The enemy now requires emotional recovery time after compliments.
